Job Description:

nSI needs systems engineering expertise to support the following areas related to sensors, networks, and command/control systems:

-          Identification of key enterprise metrics

-          Sustainability assessments of sensors, networks and C2 systems

-          Risk management for sustainment operations

-          Increase efficiencies and add capability via implementing improvements to meet new or emerging requirements. 

-          Model / simulate sensors or enterprise to facilitate determination of impacts of potential changes and support testing of improvements.

-          Identify and inject new technology into sensors and subsystems to improve performance, sustainability and efficiency.

-          Manage projects and perform design/development of improvements

-          Identify and resolve root cause issues. 

-          Support scheduled maintenance of sensors

Duties include: (a) Providing the analysis, design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all requirements to implement integrated solutions. (b) Developing component, sub-system, and system level integrated requirements, plans and strategies for testing, requirements verification and operational acceptance.  (c) Performing analysis and conducting trade studies to optimize solutions and provide requirements tradeoff. (d) Directing and executing development, acceptance and integrated system level testing.  (e) Performing a variety of tasks, which are broad in nature and are concerned with the design and implementation of individual and integrated systems, including personnel, hardware, software and support facilities, equipment, documentation and reporting.  (f)Working independently.  Training subordinate engineers. Managing and leading tasks, projects and teams.

Preferred Skills:

Qualifications: To qualify for this position, the candidate should possess a degree in a related field or have at least seven years of relevant experience. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be proficient with office automation tools.  Applicant must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Employment requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.  Must should have the capability to lead projects and execution teams.Desired experience includes: Current security clearance or recent security investigation, related work in a Department of Defense contracting environment, familiarity with test range instrumentation, the Ballistic Missile Defense System, Space Operations, Modeling and Simulation, and/or Command and Control.
