nou Systems, Inc. has openings in Huntsville, AL for talented engineers and scientists to provide technical services for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Operational Test Agency (OTA) Team, specifically in support of its Assessment Requirements (AR) Team. The BMDS OTA Team provides an independent operational assessment of the BMDS capability to defend the United States, its deployed forces, friends, and allies against ballistic missiles of all ranges and in all phases of flight. The Assessment Requirements group develops and defines assessment requirements inputs in support of Operational Testing (OT) of the BMDS. Assessment requirements are necessary to support gathering of relevant data to assess the conditions under which the BMDS is operationally effective, suitable, survivable, and interoperable. BMDS OTA submits assessment requirements before major test events, which cover new system capabilities and requirements that may have been unmet in previous events. The candidate will be responsible for identification of future BMDS functionality, development of Assessment Requirements, coordination of those requirements with the BMDS OTA Team, and evaluation of the requirements once the necessary testing has been completed.
Duties include: Apply engineering principles and scientific investigative techniques to support the development of assessment requirements for BMDS Operational Testing. Participate in pre-test discussions, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and Scenario Design Reviews (SDRs), which may include travel. Collaborate with the Warfighter community and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) elements to ensure assessment requirements are captured for the appropriate venues and test events. Develop briefings and documentation that convey BMDS OTA Team inputs and issues.
More experienced candidates are also expected to demonstrate innovative application of technical skills to develop intellectual property, solve challenging problems, and serve as a source of professional and technical knowledge accumulated through experience.
Qualifications: To qualify for this position, the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 6-12 years of experience, Master’s degree and 4-10 years of experience, or Ph.D. and 2-8 years experience in one of the following disciplines: engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be proficient with office automation tools. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Employment requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Candidate should possess: knowledge of the BMDS, its elements, and system interactions; familiarity with MDA processes, procedures, and directorates; knowledge of assessment requirements, Assessment Configuration Sheets (ACS), Critical Assessment Conditions (CACs), and Key Test Points (KTPs); familiarity with MDA testing, scenario design, and venues; experience assessing the effectiveness, suitability, survivability, and interoperability of the BMDS.
