Job Description:

As part of the Research and Development (R&D) Team at nou Systems, you will support developing new technologies that support our nation’s defense. The nou Systems R&D Team is focused on bringing new hardware and software technologies to missile defense related applications.  

Primary Responsibilities include supporting development of new classification algorithms for missile defense:

  • Support the full cycle of algorithm development; including developing new concepts, designing and implementing prototypes, and testing and packing software for delivery to customer
  • Proactively engage in the work, formulating problem statements and identifying new tasks without much direction or oversight
  • Proactively explore data to discover hidden insights and develop new metrics for analysis
  • Build analysis tools to improve efficiency of analysis and responses to ad-hoc requests
  • Create aesthetic presentations of analyses, concepts, and findings that communicate effectively to different audiences
  • Support or lead the development of white papers and proposals, including Small Business Innovative Research (SBIRs) proposals and Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs) from government agencies

Preferred Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Employment requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
  • 3+ years experience 
  • B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other related Science or Engineering degree. (M.S. preferred)
  • Experience programming in Matlab, including using object-oriented constructs.
  • Experience using R or Python for data analysis or machine learning. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with RF or IR Sensors and associated phenomenology.  Familiarity with RF and IR signatures as features for classification problems. (Preferred)
