nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) has an opening for a Mid-level Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama to provide technical services to the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) Position, Navigation and Timing Laboratory, which models, develops, and assesses PNT technologies under realistic environments.
The candidate will be part of a research and development team and is expected to perform the following tasks: (1) Support the design and execution of experiments and assessments on sensor data (2) Design and prepare technical reports for system characterizations and behaviors (3) Assist in the rapid prototyping of novel technologies, taking them from a concept to software and hardware implementations.
To qualify for this position, the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 5-12 years of experience, a Master’s degree and 3-10 years of experience, or a Ph.D. and 1-8 years of experience in an applicable science (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics). It is expected that the candidate has experience with developing, testing, and analyzing the performance of digital communications systems, designing and conducting experiments using radio frequency devices and instrumentation, and building software interfaces to hardware.
It is highly desired that the candidate has experience with optimization methods, link margin analysis, S-parameters, software defined radio platforms, printed circuit board design (up to 3GHz), antenna modeling, and FPGA development.
Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be proficient with office automation tools and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Employment requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
