nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) has an opening for a Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado to provide technical services to the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Operational Test Agency (OTA) and the Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering (AMRDEC)
Candidate will support the BMDS OTA Team and the AMRDEC by providing software development expertise. Candidate will maintain existing applications and tools and implement new requirements as requested by stakeholders. Candidate will assist BMDS OTA and AMRDEC personnel in ensuring that the applications support intended uses and are implemented in a manner that leads to mission success. The candidate should be able to translate provided user requirements into software requirements, and further develop the existing application. Candidate will be expected to design and prepare documentation for each of the applications and tools developed, and make charts and graphs to record the development progress. The candidate will work autonomously and as part of a team of engineers and scientists, as necessary, to investigate application needs. Candidate should have experience working on one or more intensive programs, demonstrate knowledge of and application of industry best practices, and utilization of standard software development environments. Candidates are expected to demonstrate innovative application of technical skills to develop intellectual property, solve challenging problems, and serve as a source of professional and technical knowledge accumulated through experience.
To qualify for this position, the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 5-12 years of experience, a Master’s degree and 3-10 years of experience, or a Ph.D. and 1-8 years of experience in an applicable science (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics). Experience working with ASP.net, Visual Studio, and Telerik plugins is required. Knowledge of web-based database applications is highly desired. Experience with the MDA classified network, software development environment, and information assurance requirements is preferred. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be proficient with office automation tools and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Employment requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
